What to Expect

On the appointment day, if you’re hosting then I will arrive on time and set up my table in whichever room you like. If you’re coming to me then please park on my drive and ring the doorbell. We’ll get introduced and I’ll go through the consultation form with you, talking about what you want from the massage and whether there is anything I should be aware of. I will step out of the room for you to undress down to your underwear, lay on the massage couch, and cover yourself with a towel.

During the treatment, as I work across your body, we can chat or stay quiet as you prefer. It’s a personal choice I will confirm with you. I will only uncover the areas being worked on, and if we find any spots of tension or new aches or pains, we can work on them or stick to the original plan.

After the session, you will have time to get dress while I pack up. I’ll discuss what I found during the bodywork and if I have any specific recommendations for you I will let you know.

If you’re hosting, please allow an extra 30 minutes beyond your appointment time for setup and packing.

FAQs

  • No, in fact it’s better for you to wear underwear. It really helps me tuck the sheets in and keep you covered. The best kind of underwear for men and women alike is regular briefs rather than boxers, thongs, or anything else. But most important of all is that you're comfortable!

  • On top of the massage time, which you can see when you book, there is also a short consultation, which lasts about 5 to 10 minutes depending on whether you’ve filled out the consultation form in advance. If I’m visiting you in your home or hotel room, then I’ll need another 25 minutes to set up and pack up.

  • I’m a qualified massage therapist with a Level 3 Diploma in Classical Body Massage (Merit grade) satisfying the ITEC and VTCT examiners. I did my training at the College of Classical Massage with a focus on anatomy, physiology, and pathology. I’m a professional member of FHT.

  • I know it might feel a bit overwhelming or intrusive to answer a lot of medical questions when you just want a relaxing massage, but there's a really good reason I ask! Understanding your health history helps me make sure your massage is not only safe for you but also tailored perfectly to what your body needs. That way, when you get off the table, you'll leave feeling your absolute best.

  • I hope you tell me during the massage if I’m not hitting the spot! But if it’s just not working out then let me know and we can finish early, without any ill feeling, and I’ll refund you the difference.

  • Yes. During the consultation we’ll discuss whether you have any allergies or skin sensitivity and make sure we don’t use any products that will cause you any discomfort. As well as that I’ll also ask whether you have any sensitive or sore spots, so I can take care around those parts.

  • I will always adjust the pressure as we go along, checking how you’re feeling and making sure it’s just right for you. If you want it firmer, or gentler, just let me know at any point. My goal is your comfort.

  • Depending on your overall health, as often as you like! Because your skin and muscles need a bit of time to benefit from each massage, it’s best not to get more than two massages per week. But each body is different and it’s really up to you.

  • I grew up in a culture where massage was commonplace, so I’ve been massaging people since I was a child - as a little girl I used to give my neighbour a head massage for a few coins. Women in my family would massage each other, especially during pregnancy and after the birth, and I’m happy to be bringing that culture with me.

  • Yes. I have professional and personal liability insurance through my membership of FHT.
