Frequently asked questions.

Do I have to be naked?

No, in fact it’s better for you to wear underwear. It really helps me tuck the sheets in and keep you covered. The best kind of underwear for men and women alike is regular briefs rather than boxers, thongs, or anything else. But most important of all is that you’re comfortable!

How long will it take?

On top of the massage time, which you can see when you book, there is also a short consultation, which lasts about 5 to 10 minutes depending on whether you’ve filled out the consultation form in advance. If I’m visiting you in your home or hotel room, then I’ll need another 25 minutes to set up and pack up but of course you aren’t paying for that.

What training have you had?

I’m a qualified massage therapist with a Level 3 Diploma in Classical Body Massage (Merit grade) satisfying the ITEC and VTCT examiners. I did my training at the College of Classical Massage with a focus on anatomy, physiology, and pathology. I’m a professional member of FHT.

Why do you ask all those questions about my medical history?

I know it might feel a bit overwhelming or intrusive to answer a lot of medical questions when you just want a relaxing massage, but there's a really good reason I ask! Understanding your health history helps me make sure your massage is not only safe for you but also tailored perfectly to what your body needs. That way, when you get off the table, you'll leave feeling your absolute best.

What if I'm not happy with it?

I hope you tell me during the massage if I’m not hitting the spot! But if it’s just not working out then let me know and we can finish early, without any ill feeling. I’ll happily refund you the remaining time.

Can I park nearby?

If you’re visiting me in spa rooms in town then there is paid street parking if you’re lucky but also lots of car parks nearby. Download the MiPermit app to pay for parking on your phone and save a bunch of time at the machine.

Can you accommodate my allergies?

Yes. During the consultation we’ll discuss whether you have any allergies or skin sensitivity and make sure we don’t use any products that will cause you any discomfort. As well as that I’ll also ask whether you have any sensitive or sore spots, so I can take care around those parts.

It won’t be too hard will it? I don’t like really hard massages!

I will always adjust the pressure as we go along, checking how you’re feeling and making sure it’s just right for you. If you want it firmer, or gentler, just let me know at any point. My goal is your comfort.

How often should I get a massage?

Depending on your overall health, as often as you like! Because your skin and muscles need a bit of time to benefit from each massage, it’s best not to get more than two massages per week. But each body is different and it’s really up to you.

How long have you been doing this?

I grew up in a culture where massage was commonplace, so I’ve been massaging people since I was a child - as a little girl I used to give my neighbour a head massage for a few coins. Women in my family would massage each other, especially during pregnancy and after the birth, and I’m happy to be bringing that culture with me.

Are you insured?

Yes. I have professional and personal liability insurance through my membership of FHT.
